The tool can be purchased and used by individual staff or schools and used without any further input from Mike.
However, Mike has assisted a number of schools in developing this vital group of staff. His bespoke services have included:
- A training day for all LSA's/TAs within a school. They were provided with the tool and led through each standard. Clarity was provided with regards to what good looks like in each standard.
- A seven week (one afternoon each week) development programme in which Mike worked with four groups of staff to ensure thorough understanding of each standard. Staff were assisted to identify their strengths and developmental need. Each member of staff then went on to lead a project in the school that allowed them to put the theory into practice. The significant impact of Mike's work was noted by inspectors.
- Training LSA's for New Directions, using the booklet to ensure thorough understanding of the relevant professional standards and facilitating self-evaluation of their current practice.
